June 2002 to July 2016

Jon Foley was Executive Director of Act TravelWise UK Association on a number of occasions from 2000 to 2016. Act TravelWise is the UK's premier membership organisation dedicated to further the sustainable travel industry with a specific emphasis on behaviour change initiatives. Working closely with the UK's Department for Transport the Association's activities include the sharing of knowledge and good practice, the delivering of small scale behaviour initiatives notably through European funded initiatives and the supporting of a network led approach for it's membership. In his role as Executive Director Jon was specifically responsible for managing the training, professional development and event activity. Jon was also Vice Chairman of the Association and a key Board member providing overall guidance to the direction of the Association. Jon's involvement with the Association was a reflection of his desire to further the active and sustainable travel agenda both within the UK and internationally.
