In the Round came into existence in 2012 shortly after our founders worked together on the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
With 11 million spectators due to descend onto an already very busy City organisers recognised that traditional approaches to dealing with transport challenges would not cut it. A team of behaviour change specialists was brought together with our co-founders at the core, to develop and implement a range of travel demand management marketing, communication and engagement interventions. It was a success, culminating in 35% of Londoners changing their travel behaviour which in turn enabled the visiting spectators to contribute to what was at the the heralded as the best ever Olympic Games.
After their participation in the London 2012 Games, Terri Lynam, an experienced behaviour change marketing communications professional, and Jon Foley, a transport planning and travel behaviour change specialist, formed In the Round recognising the potential difference they could make in helping users adjust their behaviours for both individual and societal good.
Since then In the Round has successfully supported the organisers of multiple mass participation events, national and regional governments, transport operators, private sector organisations across the globe in achieving award winning changes in behaviour.
